Planning a School Trip

Roots in Meininger Hotels – Experience and Quality Since the 1990s

As early as the late 1990s, the founders of Meininger Hotels recognized the significant demand for affordable and well-organized accommodations for school groups. They developed a hotel concept specifically tailored to young travelers. Following the successful sale and opening of the Meininger Hotel at the East Side Gallery in 2017, the founders continued their vision under a new name—the Schulz Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery, located directly across the street.

The concept: Modern, youthful, and perfect for group trips or school trips to Berlin

A place that blends history, creative energy, and modern hospitality—that’s the Schulz Hotel Berlin. We’ve built on our experience from the Meininger era and tailored it to the needs of school groups and young travelers. Our modern concept features functional four-bed rooms, high-quality amenities, and an international atmosphere.

Our student rooms accommodate up to four young people—with thoughtful amenities that combine comfort and functionality: USB charging stations, designer bathrooms, and smart TVs ensure that everyone feels at home. Modern single rooms are available for teachers and chaperones—with the same standard of amenities as in the student rooms, but offering more peace and privacy.

School trips and educational tours with a social focus

Today, the Schulz Hotel is one of the most popular hotels in Berlin for group trips and school trips. Teachers, students, and parents appreciate the combination of comfort, safety, and an educationally designed environment.

We work closely with schools, teachers, and experienced tour operators such as CTS Reisen, Herolé, and DB Klassenfahrten. Our partnership with the Freudberg Gemeinschaftsschule Berlin demonstrates that our commitment to
education and social issues is more than just a promise.

LOCATION

Two Central Locations for Exploring Berlin

Both hotels are located in the heart of Berlin and are well connected to public transportation. The
Schulz Hotel Berlin East Side Gallery is situated directly on the Spree River, right in the heart of the neighborhood and
just a few minutes from Berlin’s Ostbahnhof station. The Schulz Hotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof is being built in
the Europacity district, three minutes from Berlin’s Hauptbahnhof station and close to the government district.

Museums, street art, workshops, the Bundestag, and the Bundesrat: Your group will experience Berlin safely,
authentically, and with plenty of opportunities to learn and explore together.
